Building in Lake Country: From Orchards to Shorelines
Lake Country offers some of the most diverse building environments in the Okanagan. Whether you are on the rocky bluffs of Lakestone, the orchards of Oyama, or the lakeside lots of Carr’s Landing, your pool needs to be built for the specific "factors" of the area. Led by Paul Tallon, our team understands the Lake Country landscape:
- Lakeside Environmental Sensitivity: We help navigate the specific drainage and
environmental setbacks required for properties near Wood, Kalamalka, and Okanagan Lake. - Acreage & Sloped Lot Engineering: For hillside estates, our semi-inground hybrid pools provide a luxury in-ground look without the extreme costs of high-rock excavation.
- District of Lake Country Permitting: We manage the local bylaws, ensuring your pool meets fencing and safety standards from Winfield to Oyama.
How we prepare your backyard for the Lake Country climate
Semi-Inground Pools for Hillside Estates
Many Lake Country properties in areas like The Lakes or Lakestone feature significant grades.
Our semi-inground designs allow us to nestle your pool into the hillside, preserving your view of the valley and lakes while reducing the need for massive retaining walls.
High-Efficiency Spas & Swim Spas
Perfect for those crisp Lake Country evenings, our Trevi spas feature industry-leading insulation. They are engineered to thrive in our Interior climate while staying within the energy goals of the BC Energy Step Code.
Expert Liner Replacements & Upgrades
Refreshing an older pool in Winfield or Carrs Landing? We provide precision-fit liner replacements and modern, energy-efficient pump systems that breathe new life into your existing backyard oasis.

Lake Country Pool & Spa FAQ
Do I need a permit for a pool in Lake Country?
Yes. The District of Lake Country requires building permits for all pool installations. This includes meeting specific requirements for safety fencing, setbacks from property lines, and proper drainage plans to protect our local lakes.
Can you install pools on the rocky terrain in Lakestone?
Absolutely. We are specialists in hard-rock excavation and hillside builds. In many Lake Country subdivisions, we recommend semi-inground pools to work with the natural slope rather than fighting it, saving you time and money.
How do you protect pools from Lake Country’s winter freeze?
Our “Okanagan-Ready” engineering includes professional winterization techniques. We ensure lines are blown out and treated to survive our -30°C freeze-thaw cycles, protecting your underground infrastructure.
What are the best pool heating options for this area?
Because of our hot summers and cool nights, we highly recommend high-efficiency heat pumps. They provide consistent heat for early spring and late fall swimming while maintaining the energy efficiency required in modern BC builds.
Do you serve the more rural areas like Oyama and Carr’s Landing?
Yes. While our
showroom is centrally located on Adams Rd in Kelowna, our crews are in Oyama, Carr’s
Landing, and Winfield weekly for site reviews, installations, and seasonal maintenance.
